HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Deer & Dough started as a home based micro-bakery in September 2020 by self-taught, lifelong baking enthusiast, Melinda Friedman. Originally from Brooklyn, she spent the past 30 years in Vancouver before making the leap with her husband to beautiful Victoria.
Meeting neighbour Chris Moran in 2021 was fortuitous. A true Westcoast foodie, he spent the past two decades gaining experience in restaurants in Vancouver and Victoria and brought
the entrepreneurial know-how necessary to turn Deer & Dough Bakery into a sweet little brick and mortar destination.
